The following documents, policies and procedures must be read and understood prior to signing and submitting the student’s application.
International Student Enrolment Procedure
This information applies to all international students who wish to study at Lytton Street School.
1. Complete the International Student Enrolment Application Form online or manually. The parents of the international student must sign the application form and all relevant accompanying documents.
2. Upload all supporting documents online or email scanned completed application form and documents to Lytton Street School.
3. International students under the age of 10 years must live with a parent/legal guardian. The parent/legal guardian must hold a Guardian Visa for enrolments of more than 3 months. International students aged 10 years and older may live: with their parents; with a school approved designated caregiver or in a school approved homestay.
4. Lytton Street School will issue an Offer of Place when all required information, including a copy of the student’s passport, has been received.
5. If the Offer of Place is dependent upon some conditions being met, e.g. approving designated caregiver for students aged 10 years and older, approval for pre-existing medical conditions, etc., then this documentation must be provided to meet the conditions of the offer.
6. Accept and sign the Offer of Place and return it to Lytton Street School. Pay the fees stated in the Offer of Place letter. The fees will be held securely and are subject to Lytton Street School’s Fee Protection Policy.
7. Lytton Street School will issue a Confirmed Offer of Place when it has received the signed Offer of Place letter and all fees and conditions have been paid.
8. Upon receipt of the Confirmed Offer of Place letter then the international student can apply for a student visa from Immigration New Zealand.
9. Visa is approved and travel arrangements are made. School advised of arrival date.
10. Lytton Street School will arrange a Zoom or in-person meeting with the student’s parent/legal guardian, the agent and the international student to meet the student, discuss parental and student expectations, assess the student’s level of English and interests and provide a pre-arrival orientation including the school’s Code of Conduct and student welfare policy.
11. The student and accompanying parent/legal guardian (under 10 years) arrive in New Zealand, if not already here.
12. On the first day at Lytton Street School the international student and their parent/legal guardian will attend the Lytton Street School Arrival Orientation
13. The international student will be ready to join their class
