International Students under 10 years

All international students under the age of 10 years (5 – 9 years) must live a parent or legal guardian whilst studying at Lytton Street School.

International Students 10 years and over

All international students aged 10 years and older must live in one of the following whilst studying at Lytton Street School:

· Live with a parent or legal guardian
· Live with a designated caregiver
· Live in a school approved homestay

All Lytton Street School homestay and designated caregiver accommodation has undergone a Code compliant safety check which includes police vetting of all adults in the accommodation.

Become a Homestay Host

Being a homestay host is a rewarding cultural experience looking after the day-to-day care of an international student in your own home. Our host families provide a safe, supportive and welcoming home environment as the student studies at Lytton Street School and adjusts to living in a new country.

Lytton Street School is committed to providing a safe, supportive and happy homestay experience for its young international students. All prospective homestay hosts must undergo a Code compliant safety check as part of the homestay selection process. This includes:

a) A confirmation of identity; and
b) Reference checks; and
c) Police vetting of all adults over the age of 18 years living in the household; and
d) A home visit to meet the prospective homestay host and view the home; and

Undertake a risk assessment of the information provided from a – d to assess the suitability to become a homestay host.

All Lytton Street School approved homestay accommodation is compliant with the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2021.
